The Sea Turtle

“The Sea Turtle” is a downloadable pattern offered by Kay LeFevre through Etsy. The pattern is offered in “tiles” which were easy to tape together and transfer to my favorite backing, monk’s cloth.

Cindy Irwin was chosen as my instructor when I decided to hook this pattern using embellishments.  Fortunately, she was one of the teachers at the ATHA rug school in Plymouth, NH last fall. This was a good choice because Cindy demonstrated how to securely attach beads, shells, etc.

Challenging was finding what I had in mind for the seabed and bubbles.  Fortunately, we have access to supplies through the internet, but treasures were also found in unexpected places like Ocean State Job Lot.
